I just 'updated' to the latest version 2.2 Beta 21145 and now there is no "open window on manual add" option.

Where'd it go?

I've read the changelog and where it says it has gone to does not exsist.

I'll head back to 2.03 until this major oops is sorted.

Thanks.

MaX

the new colors for the status icons contrast really badly. actually, i liked the previous style icons much better than the current ones. (last used in version 2.0.3) it would be nice to go back to those

I get a blank screen. The title bar shows some transfer states, but that's about it. When I use the non-beta 2.0, everything appears ok. On Windows 2000.

I'm on build 21145. It seems that Utorrent is not adhering to the upload cap I set.

Try checking "Apply rate limit to uTP connections" in that same options dialog box.

I'm getting "Error: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error." in the status on a bunch of my torrents since the 21145 update. Nothing in the windows event log and a chkdsk says things are ok. Windows 2008 r2. Is there a utorrent log file anywhere?

We'll fix the default for the next version.

The add torrent dialog should work for everyone now. We've removed the second checkbox in the Directories dialog, so now there's only one unified checkbox to enable the Add Torrent dialog.

Have you tried deleting your settings and using the latest 2.2?

Pardon a noob, but is there a problem with protocol encryption nowadays, seeing as the setting for outgoing defaults to Disabled? Unless there is some sizeable potential issue it seems a bit counterproductive to limit the default client to unencrypted outgoing connections. Feel free to ignore this question if this is common knowledge in the world of torrents.

Not everyone is throttled/disrupted by their ISP.

Of those that are, many are not helped by encryption...at least not alone.

So it's bad if it's enabled by default.

Encryption can still be forced -- as far as I know uTorrent won't go without encryption to a peer/seed that is flagged for it via PEX.

Still not fixed... :P

Why can we simply have the old sidebar, it was less bloatware, more cleaner and easy to navigate sth

And why enabling by default encryption will be bad ?

IMO I can only help, because we will simply have larger pool of peers to pick from for connecting to...

With disabling encryption we can't establish encrypted outgoing connections, so I don't think it's good option for default

Really late post and not contributing at all to the topic, but..

IMHO, antivirus apps are for nubs. I don't have one installed and I've never had a virus.

And I've been using computers for over 15 years.

I used to use Kaspersky but only for on-demand scanning.

All that proactive bs that runs in the background and checks what you're doing like a nanny is not for me.

Right now, I only use VirusTotal Uploader if I need to scan something I download. Of course I don't download random crap that most people seem to, so I never have a problem. Most trustworthy files have a digital signature nowadays anyway. No need for a lame av app.

Also, Firefox with ABP is all I need in terms of internet security.

My hardware firewall helps a bit as well.

^ This x500.

Note: If you don't have NoScript then add it to your arsenal.
