mayhem117 Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 Ok first off my internet connection is crappy. In a speed test I get 1.10 Mbits/s for download and 0.15 Mbits/s for upload. I've tried calling the ISP and they said this is the highest speed I can get because the advertised max is a 1.5 Mbit connection and that is all they have in my area. I'm using Windows 7 and when I try to download I get decent speeds 120-130 kB/s is the highest I've seen it reach, upload is around 22 kB/s. I've done the speed test and it works okay but for some reason when I try to download a file from a torrent that is very well seeded I always get slow download speeds (20 kB/s max)Ex. a torrent was just uploaded an hour ago and I've been trying to download it, currently I get 22 (1715) for seeds and 38 (7868) for peers with an availability of 18.998. My download doesn't get above 15kB/s while my upload speed is a steady 20/kB/sDoes anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?
mayhem117 Posted May 31, 2010 Author Report Posted May 31, 2010 I changed the settings also for the CPU and speed options as stated in your sig. As for the test torrent it is downloading at a whopping 130 kB/s (About as fast as I've seen it get). As for the torrent I'm trying to download it keeps jumping from 5kB/s to 80 and here and there inbetween. Is the torrent I'm trying to download just bogged down by people trying to get it?
rafi Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 As long as you get the performance you expect from your connection with the test torrent you are set well for download. No way to tell about other "general" torrents.
