darkon11
uTorrent 2.0.2 resolved speed problems of the past releases but there's still something that I don't understand.I have a band of about 700 KB/s and when Utorrent is in use (like now at 350 KB/s) the D/L speed of other programs (i.e. firefox) drops to 0.At other speed the combined speed is about half of the band or less.Bandwidth settings are:Max. U/L speed 10 KB/sMax. D/L speed 600 KB/sMax. number of connections 500Max. number of connected peers 500upload slots 10Is there some trick that I should know ?Edit @ 21:10In the meanwhile I made a test with the pretty old 1.7.7, the gap is still there but at 350 KB/s it leaves me a reasonable 200 KB/s. darkon11
Maybe I wasn't clear.I don't have speed problem but it seems that uT 2.0.2 uses a lot more band than it shows.Since 1.7.7 don't (with the exact same settings) I'd like to know why.Oh, and just to be clear I have a 30/700 KB/s connection. Switeck
v1.7.7 didn't show approximate overheads it was killing in the background.v1.7.7 also didn't use poor-router-overloading UDP packets nearly as heavily.
darkon11
ThanksWhat should I do to make 2.0.2 behave this way ?
Switeck
Turn off some of the new features...and lower your settings to reasonable rates for your connection.
fefrie
I'm curious, what new features are you reffering to?
Switeck
Disable the old usual suspects: UPnP, NAT-PMP, DHT, Local Peer Discovery, and Resolve IPs.Reduce bt.connect_speed to only 1-4, reduce net.max_halfopen to 4.Disable uTP and also possibly Teredo/IPv6. darkon11
Wow it's a lot.I think that the best solution is to use 1.7.7 when I need band for other apps. Thanks
Switeck
v2.0.3 should use less bandwidth than v1.7.7 if you do this.
