rick19011
Hey guys I have used utorrent in the past but then since I had my 50mb fibre optic net installed the upload speeds in utorrent range from only 4kb-8kb when I even set the limit to 20 or more and this really affects my dl speed and only get 1-2mb/sec when i should get 6mb/sec.I have used bittorrent 6.4 for a wile and has no problems what so ever but the tracker I use now does not let me use that client so I decided to try utorrent again and still have the upload speed problem, I have used different versions such as final version and beta and same problem, my port is forwarded and the router is connected wired to my computer and im running windows 7 64bit with zone alarm firewall, even if i exit zonealarm and start utorrent upload is still slow...Hope you can help its really annoying....thanks. DreadWingKnight
Does the problem persist with zonealarm completely uninstalled (as zonealarm likes to not listen and still interferes when "shut down")?What upload limits have you been setting? rick19011
I just uninstalled zonealarm and it made no difference whatsoever.I have the limit set to 20kb, I also have tried setting it to 0 for unlimited upload speed but no difference what so ever. Here is a screenshot of what it looks like with the slow upload speed and also the 20kb upload speed limit which never gets reached because the upload speed is sooo slow and affetcs my download speed a lot, bare in mind im on 50mb and i get 6.0mb/sec max on bittorrent 6.4 i have also tried other torrents and its all the same something is defidently wrong.. DreadWingKnight
Your line's speed is closer to 150-160kbyte/sec on the upload. Uploading too little and uploading too much are both contributing factors to slow downloads. Also, some torrents are only capable of giving you around 1-2mbyte/sec.Have you tested with openoffice or slackware torrents yet? rick19011
I have just tried slackware torrent and the upload speed is only going to 2-3kb/sec and cause its too low the dl speed is low aswell, I have tried many other torrents and exactly the same so something is wrong somehwere

rick19011
Is your upload traffic rate limited? There is no indication that your ISP rate limits your uploads. Is your download traffic rate limited? There is no indication that your ISP rate limits your downloads.Look another screenshot, i really need help witht his something is wrong... Switeck
Despite Glasnost results, your ISP is probably hostile to BitTorrent traffic.Try 1st, 2nd, and 3rd links in my signature.
rick19011
Well when I use bittorrent 6.4 the speed I always max out on the private tracker where as utorrents such slow upload speed seriously affects my download speed.
Switeck
BitTorrent is a rebranded uTorrent clone. If 1 works and the other doesn't...it's time to reconsider your firewall!(Because it's arbitrarily blocking/allowing things!)
rick19011
I thought it was my firewall causing it at the beginning but I totally uninstalled zone alarm and utorrent was still uploading as slow as a snail and affecting my dl speed I seriously dont understand why it is not working. Switeck
Multiple firewalls probably present...you just removed the first roadblock.

rick19011
I only have eset nod32 antivirus installed tried disabling that and still the same
Switeck
Try with windows firewall enabled (but with uTorrent allow rules) and eset nod32 antivirus totally uninstalled...because at this point it's the most likely suspect.
rick19011
I tried with windows firewall enabled and I actually had avast antivirus installed before nod32 and I had exactly the same problems so I uninstalled avast and installed nod32 and still the same so its not nod32. Switeck
If uTorrent is firewalled, it simply *MUST* be due to your modem, router, or a firewall on your computer. The only other remote possible exception is your ISP itself is doing something past your modem to render you firewalled.
rick19011
Well it won't be my ISP because I achieve alot faster upload rate on any other client so your right must be my modem or router but not sure how to fix it if its that router is D-Link DIR-
Switeck
Just to verify, test without the router.
rick19011
Alright I tested without router and the upload is still really slow therefor it HAS to be my modem. The modem is the 50mb modem from virgin media AMBIT VMNG300 Hope theres a solution now I know its the modem.
