mcoquet Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 HelloThe question may have been asked already but let me be specific about it. I am using :* uTorrent 1.8.5 (build 17414), since version 2 is not compatible with some trackers I use* Windows 7 (64 bits edition)* My ISP is "Free" (French ISP), which is very reliable and on which I have performed speed tests which gave positive results (i.e. in accordance with my theoretical DL/UL speeds)* The green tickmarck appears and ports are forwarded properly through a router with UPnPProblem is, while my DL speed is always optimal (ca. 1.3 Mb/s), my UL speed is always crappy (i.e. 3 to 5 kB/s when it should be around 100 kB/s). What could go wrong here ?I tested this with a large variety of trackers and I always get the same results, except for piratebay for some reason ?Thanks in advance to whomever could help me solve this annoying issue....
Switeck Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 ADSL?Overseeded torrents?ISP throttling? The piratebay supposedly no longer runs trackers.
mcoquet Posted June 30, 2010 Author Report Posted June 30, 2010 Thanks SwiteckI am using ADSL over Wi-Fi with a router, in a configuration that actually worked perfectly well while under Win Vista 32 bitsMy ISP doesn't seem to be throttling torrents (at least according to Glasnost tests)As for overseeding, how would I be able to assess this please ?
Switeck Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 For instance...if the torrents report 100 seeds but only 10 peers, it's very overseeded. The few peers you see are likely the (very) slow ones that failed to download quickly from the many seeds that could and probably did connect to it.
mcoquet Posted June 30, 2010 Author Report Posted June 30, 2010 thanks for the quick reply. I'll run additional tests over time and see how it goes then...
Firon Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Run 2.0.2 and use better trackers that do allow it.
