MercWithMouth Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Hey there.I'd like to un-install utorrent from my computer for a few days. But, when I re-install it, I'd actually like to use the current "preferences and options" settings that I'm using right now.So, I was wondering if somebody could describe to me how I could back-up my:*1. current settings which are accessed form uTorrent's "OPTIONS" menu;*2. the current download-status of the torrents that are presently listed out in uTorrent's "torrents' statuses" interface-pane (i.e., the pane with the various progress-bars and other status-indicators like seen on this screenshot: http://my.jetscreenshot.com/2306/20100703-fqfx-18kb )My guess actually is that all I have to do is copy the "C:\Users\MercWithMouth\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent" folder to a FlashDrive and then copy it back to the same location when I want to re-install it. But, I wanted to verify that this was the case.*More importantly, would I need to back-up my "torrents in progress downloads", or, can they remain in their current "download-pending" locations?Sorry for the verbose inquiry, but I thought hazards could be better avoided by describing matters thoroughly.(also, I did search the forums for general info about backing-up settings, but I didn't quite find anything that dealt quite completely with my situation.) THANKS.
moogly Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Save the folder %appdata%\utorrent (containing your history, settings and .torrent by default) and the folder you set in Preferences > Directories.
