drearias Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 ive tried to download two CDs that had over 150 seeds and at least over 30 peers yet it still just wont download....any help?
Switeck Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 Was uTorrent connecting to any seeds/peers?Were there any tracker errors?Did uTorrent get the green light at the bottom of the window? (meaning uTorrent is unfirewalled)
NeoSelcev Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 Hello, I have the same problem.I add new torrent to the program, and can wait ages, but nothing changes...Here is the screen. I know that now there 3 CD, and there is no many connection. But before that, there was about 15 film, new film with above 1000 seeds and peers for every one. and every torrent was connected to minimum 15 peers and seeds. And avail. was at least 3plus. And NOTHING!What can I check?
Switeck Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 Firewall partially blocking uTorrent?Antivirus present?uTorrent set to not download?
NeoSelcev Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 I'm only using built-in windows firewall, but uTorrent is not blocked by it(here a screen shot).Antivirus - Kasperski, but without firewall. Only for system scanning!I didn't set uTorrent not to download. Tell me where I can check this...? It surely set to start download on the moment when new torrent had been added.
Switeck Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 Edit the uTorrent rules in Windows firewall -- it may not be allowing full 2-way traffic.Do you get any tracker messages in uTorrent? (Such as banned from downloading due to low ratio.)Preferences, Scheduler or Files window/tab (bottom half of uTorrent's screen) can set all torrents or files in a particular torrent to not download.
paintball9 Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 Wouldn't banned from download errors (or any other tracker problems for that matter) change the download icon (blue arrow) to a red one.
NeoSelcev Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 2Switeck As I can see at the screen shots of firewall settings, uTorrent is allowed to connect to the internet and to be connected from the internet. I didn't get any messages from uTorrent. The films, that I tried to download before were from more than 5 different trackers. And if the tracker works with ratio, I always keep it more than 1. And I'll tell you more, the second computer at my house with the same system(I installed both systems on those computers) CAN download. They work through one network. When I tried to download from my computer(it is the best one) and it didn't worked, I started the same torrents on the second computer and it did worked(the same system, and the same settings). And the last one. Scheduler is not active, and in the files windows all the files are with normal priority.
paintball9 Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 That could be your problem, If you have both computers to use exactly the same settings then they will both be using the same ports. This would pose a problem in your router, because it would only send the traffic to one computer.
NeoSelcev Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 2paintball9You right, but I know about ports, and computers are using different ports. And also all those ports are open in router. And I'm not using the computers in the same time, when one of them is on, the second is off.
Switeck Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 It may sound stupid, but remove all uTorrent-related rules in Windows firewall and then readd just 1 for the current uTorrent version you're using. Double-check in the rules specifics that uTorrent is allowed basically unblocked 2-way connectivity on all ports.
NeoSelcev Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 So, I tried to do that, but nothing happened. I removed the old one from the list and added the current version. And also added the port, that uTorrent is using. And I repeat , that I'm using only windows's built-in firewall, and I think that there is no option(on windows xp) to unblock or block 2-way connections. I didn't see those...And if you can explain me what rules in uTorrent options do you mean?
Switeck Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 I meant Windows firewall rules for uTorrent, not in uTorrent.Sorry that wasn't clear...
