Switeck
What kind of internet connection is that?Do you have a modem-router and/or standard router?
paintball9
Sounds like you have a wireless internet service either through cell towers or satallite, Either way neither of these connections is really any good for high bandwidth applications like p2p. And from what your max speed is you have a connection very similar to dial-up which is basically hopeless with any torrents. My recommendation, get a faster/wired internet connection. An average low speed connection is somewhere around the 512k-1024k range, yours is currently around a 32k to give you an idea of how slow that is. (Dial-up is anywhere from 40-56 on a really good connection)
raizorock
Hi,Switeck, yea as Paintball said its a mobile gprs connection, having unlimited download and am connected to my lap and browsing,no router and put exemption in FW for both application and port (even it is not yet opened).Am connecting via my mobile - Motorola v360 through Moto Phonetools and it connected as Motorola USB Modem. I have set the modem speed to maximum (921600).My network icon on taskbar shows that 921.6 kbps.Paintball, i used the same connection at very earlier to download some torrents but even it is not a faster one it could download all files at that time(before 8 or 9 months when i have the connection) then i was not in my home town, went to an other state n now only cameback and started the same aft a clean format and reinstall of my OS too(Win XP SPII). But, i had downloaded some files of 700mb subsequently by using the same connection for 2 or 3 days (continuous torrenting during night too) . But now its not posible for a single download of even just 50mb as its crawling,crawling,crawling... The network triangle shows yellow and transfer rate very very low. Expecting some miracle or any tricks from you friends here. Thanks for yours kind advice and time in this regard,Best Regards,Raizo.
paintball9
With that type of internet your speed will depend on the tower your connected to (3g or other) and will vary greatly depending on the number of users and traffic. So moving around may have switched you to another slower tower or just a larger number of users on that tower. You mentioned your taskbar showing your speed at 921.6, while that is the connection to the device not the device to the tower. its like connecting to a wired router, your speed will show 100mb/s but your internet may only be a 2m connection. Same goes for yours, your max is merely what the highest transfer speed your modem is capable of.
raizorock
Hi Paintball, i understood ur points and realizing the facts.Hi mate one doubt, If i take a wireless connection i.e broadband connection with a USB device (may be 2mb,3.1mb like that) provided by many ISPs nowadays, is that okey for resolving these probs? So many ISPs providing the high speed net connections like these forms. Thanks again,Best Regards,Raizo
Switeck
Most wireless connections will have less than max speeds and upload max will probably be pathetic relative download max. They will also be firewalled -- there won't be any open incoming ports unless you pay a LOT extra.
paintball9
Not quite sure I understand what your asking but I'll try.If you're asking whether a faster broadband/dsl connection (as opposed to gprs/edge/3g) would clear up the problem the answer would most likely be yes. A wired connection is more reliable, has faster response times (ping) and is overall just cheaper for the bandwidth you receive. Even a 1m broadband would show quite an improvement over the wireless you currently have. (and I can almost guarantee it will be cheaper) A 1m download would work out to about 110 KB/s max download speed.
