ShenziSixais
Found some torrents I had been trying to find for a while, and they worked, but after a few days I got this:Obviously, on the highlighted torrent, connections have been closed by peers, not allowed, or timed out. All of them WERE working before. Any ideas? Also, unrelated, but I misspelled my user name when registering. Is there a mod or admin that can correct my username to "ShenziSixaxis"? moogly
TPB's trackers (http/udp) are down, you can remove them.OBT & PBT should work, they are public. Maybe a temporary overload.Make a try with one of OOo's torrents: http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/And report here if the tracker is not working (I' sure they work). ShenziSixais
Got the same problems with those other torrent downloaders. I loaded a couple other torrents I have saved in uTorrent and they all work fine. I don't know what the deal is with this one not working.
WLS
The TPB trackers no longer exist, OBT tracker is down at present, and I notice that you don't have dht and pex enabled. If you enable dht and pex for that torrent it should download since it appears to be a public torrent. ShenziSixais
Those WERE working before on that torrent. Steps to re-enable those?
WLS
The Pirate Bay tracker was shutdown last August, and couldn't possibly have been working unless you have been running that torrent for over a year. The OBT tracker is off-line until it comes back up. Add another public tracker, enable DHT and PEX, or ask for help on TPB's forum. It is not a uTorrent problem, but a tracker problem.
moogly
Are you sure the torrent job is public?
ShenziSixais
100% sure the torrent is public. I know the Pirate Bay trackers weren't working to begin with, but I was asking how to re-enable the DHT and PEX, because those two trackers were working to begin with. Also, what would be another public tracker to add? WLS
I didn't see a request on how to enable DHT and PEX in either of your posts. However, if that is what you want.Highlight the torrent job, right click, select properties, tick the check boxes on or if you are only running public torrents, go to preferences, bittorrent, enable DHT network and Enable peer exchange, and good luck! ShenziSixais
I checked the preferences, and DHT and EPX were both already were already enabled. Tried disabling, re-enabling, uninstalling, reinstalling, and nothing worked. Quite a shame, too, these things are hard to find.
WLS
Ok, the torrent has to be private because I get DHT and PEX not allowed also.So add this tracker, http://tracker.publicbt.com/announce. Currently there are 2 seeds and an availability of 2.938. The torrent is over a year and a half old. Good Luck!
ShenziSixais
Ah! Thank you! That got it working. I will post the tracker in the topic on the website I got the torrent from. I haven't a clue why it worked to begin with then went private, though. It MUST be bi-polar. xDNow I just need to find subtitles that aren't corrupt for the other torrent that's at 100%. What fun that will be.
WLS
Great! Wonderful! I'm so happy I could eat grits! So we both learned something.I learned that I should have read your screenshot better, and understood that when DHT, PEX and LPD say not allowed, it means that the private bit has been set for that torrent, otherwise it would have said disabled or enabled. You learned (I hope) that you didn't have a uTorrent problem, as I think I mentioned in a previous post in this thread. It was a torrent problem because it stopped working when the OBT tracker went offline. It always was a torrent with the private bit set, either by mistake by the uploader or the uploader got it from a private site and then reposted it where we found it.Next time you have a problem like that use the hosting sites forum, or your most important tool.End of discussion. paintball9
That seems to have been coming up quite a bit in the last while, People posting torrents checked as private to public trackers, its rather annoying especially on TPB.
