randomboyj Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 I have looked at the FAQs and am unable to find any remedy for this issue. After I finish downloading a torrent, I allow it to be seeded. Because I am really OCD about stuff, I frequently run a "Force Re-Check" on my seeded torrents and sometimes they will come up as needing to be completed. They will go from done, 100% completed, to anywhere from 90-99% complete and needing to be completed. What is the reasoning for this?Often, I will receive the error message "Error: Element Not Found" or something similar. Again, because of my OCD, I often run programs which will remove temporary and unnecessary files. Using software like Glarys Utilities, Advanced SystemCare Pro, CCleaner, and a variety of spyware detection and removal software, I am afraid that maybe I am removing necessary files that is causing a loss of integrity in the torrents. Is this the reason? If so, what can be done to avoid this?I really appreciate the help. This has been driving me nuts for months and I haven't been able to find a useful solution.
Switeck Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 Notice which parts end up missing? There's the only clue I can give you why they end up "broken".
randomboyj Posted July 15, 2010 Author Report Posted July 15, 2010 Looks like it's the very very end of the torrents that end up getting screwed after removing junk files ... Any ideas how to avoid this? Three torrents dropped from 100% to 99.8%, 99.8%, and 99.6% for some reason.
Switeck Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 Files share pieces.Piece-wise, the end of 1 file is the beginning of another. If you're removing "junk" files, the torrent will register as incomplete.
randomboyj Posted July 18, 2010 Author Report Posted July 18, 2010 Thank you for your help on this stuff.I'm wanting to check something; would deleting the ~uTorrentPartFile_*.dat of these folders cause it to become incomplete? I want to be able to stop seeding a file, remove and delete the .torrent information, and then burn the downloaded data/folder/file onto a disc knowing confidently that I have ALL the intended download. Would I simply "Remove and Delete .torrent," delete the ~uTorrentPartFile_*.dat, and then be able to manipulate the folder or burn it without losing any of the information that I have already downloaded?Again, thanks for your help.
DreadWingKnight Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Yes it would. uTorrent will automatically delete the partfile when you remove the task from it.
