uluruman Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 I have been wondering how to do this for some time now. Any time something - me, or Firefox or whatever - attempts to open uTorrent, I would like the system to check whether PeerBlock is currently running. If it is, then fine, uTorrent opens without incident; but if not, Peerblock is automatically started, and after a delay, uTorrent proceeds to start. Is there a script out there that will do this? If not, what could I use to do this? I have some minor programming experience, probably enough to accomplish something like this...just point me in the right direction. Thanks!
DreadWingKnight Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Why do you think that peerblock protects you from anything?
uluruman Posted July 12, 2010 Author Report Posted July 12, 2010 Because the only time my ISP ever scolded me for torrents, it was for something downloaded during a 4-hour window where I did not have PeerBlock running. That's good enough proof for me.Anyway, just humor me. Or at least suggest a better alternative rather than being Mr. Cryptic Expert.
Switeck Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 You could try putting the ip list into uTorrent's ipfilter.dat.
uluruman Posted July 12, 2010 Author Report Posted July 12, 2010 Thank you switeck, I will start looking into that..
