antsh
What is the proper bt.transp_disposition value for allowing both tcp and udp incoming connections but only allowing tcp outgoing connections? Using latest 2.03 beta btw. Thanks in advance.
Switeck
31 is the default, which is TCP+uTP both ways.29 should do what you ask...
antsh
This doesn't seem to be doing what I thought it would. Just to test this, i set it to 29, and set "apply rate limit to uTP connections" to off. I set my upload speed limit to 25kB/s just for this test. Since this setting shouldn't be allowing outbound uTP connections, my upload should still observe the rate limit. This wasn't the case, however, as it was at a steady 400kB/s.I also have apply rate limit to overhead off, so I see that it is actual data thats going out at 400kB/s, not just a sum of data and overhead. Thanks for the help. DreadWingKnight
How many of your uTP connections have the "I" flag?
antsh
Looks like all of them have the "I" flag.
DreadWingKnight
Then it's behaving as designed, even if it's not behaving the way you want it to.You set uTP to run unlimited regardless of your regular limit and that's what it's doing. antsh
Thank you for your help. I just assumed there would be a fine grained control specifying which direction uTP could be limited and unlimited. I know I only have a very superficial understanding of how it all works, so thank you again for your help and time.
Switeck
bt.transp_disposition value only decides how they connection, NOT how they upload/download after connecting.Once connected, they are 2-way communication routes. It's like a phonecall -- both ends can talk regardless of who called who. antsh
Perfect explanation, thank you! One last question, what is the difference between 15 and 31 for the value of this property?
Switeck
31 supports the new uTP header/handshake type.15 is the old value.
antsh
And thank you one more time...
Firon
You should not use the old header. We will probably remove it completely sometime in the future.
