port above 10000- utorrent

With utorrent, I saw on faq, that it is good to use a port above 10000. Do I select a range, would it be ok to choose 10555 to 10855. Would I have to set that number in port forwarding on my router? Thanks Does this ensure faster downloads? My download speed is ranging from 24-40kB/s. The file is 803mb,with

seeds 21(205) and peers 27(422). My download speed is half of my upload. I have been uploading at 40kB/s. I have 512 mb of memory. Should I get faster downloads. i also have a netgear router

Pick any one port above 10000, and forward that one port in the router to your computer. Run the Speed Guide for decent configuration. And if you still need help, give us more information (hint: read the sticky to know what information to provide us with).
