Utorrent 2.02 Hangs my computer hardcore

Hey, when ever i open bittorent it hangs my computer sooo bad i cant do anything else and if i leave unattended unattended and come back it will barely respond. As i write this post i am downloading at 1200kb/s from 4 torrents and i am bearly able to use any other functions of my computer for instance listening to music via VLC. I highly doubt my system stats are the problem and i am on a fresh format of win Xp sp2. The following are my stats.

Asus p5q premium motherboard

4 gig DDR 2 1066mhz

9800gtx + amp

Any help would be awesome it just does not make sense !

Zone Alarm simply cannot handle uTorrent's normal activities. It will crash, and possibly take out the whole OS when it does!

Also you have Zone Alarm and AVG installed. Dual AV's usually leads to problems, And like Switeck said ZA does not work well with uTorrent.

Hey guys thanks for the reply, yeah im running za and ava together as i assume every other cheap scape is , I think i have discovered that it is partial when im downloading at like 1000kb/s it tends to lag up even more. This i find unusual as when i download from like Microsoft at around 2200kb/s though just chrome i get no problems. Also for some reason when i am trying to play music with u torrent open i get heaps of distortion maybe thats due to the lag who knows.

So is it best to just disable avg and za whilst im downloading ? or is there a more compatible firmware and virus buster i can install ? being aware these are all free versions
