Shdwdrgn
Since being bumped up to the 2.2 beta a couple weeks ago, I am missing most of the toolbar buttons. I have the first four buttons, but they have a white background instead of transparent. Further to the right, I can see dividers between the button sections, and I get the tooltip when I hover over where the preferences button should be. Also in the category list, it looks like there is spacing for icons to the left of each category, however again I don't actually have any icons displayed.I *do* have icons displayed on the tabs for the bottom part of the window, although again these have a white background rather than a transparent one. This morning I got the update to build 20813, but after restarting I am still missing the icons. Any suggestions?
Firon
What OS are you on?
Shdwdrgn
Ubuntu linux, running wine configured with Windows XP settings. Note that I've been running the 2.0 beta just fine since last year and have not seen a problem like this before. It's only since the category view showed up (which I assume came with the 2.2 beta) that the icon problem has happened.
moogly
Are you running the latest Wine dev version? (Wine 1.3.0)
Shdwdrgn
No, I'm running 1.0.1. I try not to get into the development versions if I can avoid it.
DreadWingKnight
Well, 1.0.1 is legacy now.http://www.winehq.org/1.2 is current stable.
moogly
Maybe but Wine is special. Many important fixes are added in dev versions. If you want to use correctly µT in Wine, try at least the latest stable version, Wine 1.2.1.0.1 is completely outaded.
Shdwdrgn
Huh I'll have to check for updates then. 1.0.1 is what my system is showing as the currently available version. Regardless, why are the icons not working in uT 2.2 when they were working fine in 2.0? It's just an icon, it's not like there's any great new technology behind displaying them? DreadWingKnight
1.0.1 is what my system is showing as the currently available version. Then the repositories your system is using to determine which wine version to use are outdated.
Shdwdrgn
Well I did a full system upgrade to lucid lynx today (was on karmic before). I now have wine 1.2 installed, but still have the same issue with the icons. I also downloaded a new copy of build 20813 and tried to run that, but again the icons are still incorrect or missing. Any other suggestions?
Firon
Are you using any custom skins?
macgeek417
I registered to say that I have this problem too. I do not have any custom skins installed. Would a screenshot be helpful?
moogly
Why not. http://imageshack.us/
Shdwdrgn
No skins here either, just the basic uT. I started up version 2.0.3 again just to verify the problem, and I do have all of my icons displayed in that version. However in 2.2, I only have icons for add torrent, add from url, create new torrent, and delete. Beginning with play/pause/stop, none of the other icons actually appear. macgeek417
http://i.imgur.com/4hGCN.pngNote that the speeds are just because µTorrent had only been open for about 5 seconds when I took the screenshot =PEDIT: Also, in 2.0.3 I also have this problem: The icons have a white background which is also annoying. And the status icons are pixilated. This is the same in 2.2.
paintball9
Can you post a process explorer log for utorrent.exe, there could be a dll affecting the uTorrent process somehow.
macgeek417
Sure! But I dont see what could have changed in the toolbar button code from 2.0.3 -> 2.2 Beta.EDIT:Uhhhhhh... How do I make that log? I have Process Explorer open.
Firon
What happens if you change the emulation from XP to say, Windows 7 or Vista?Just ignore paintball. That isn't relevant for Wine users.
Shdwdrgn
I tried it as Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, and 98. No change in any of them.

Shdwdrgn
Where do you download the icons from, and how do you know what the filenames are supposed to be? I would have assumed the icons were built into the EXE.
macgeek417
Nope, custom icons dont appear to fix it for me.
