elangsru Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 I use the webui on my home server and I also have uTorrent installed on my mac. When downloading from my home server I sometimes get a "head skull" error after a few sec on some of my torrents. This never happens on my mac. What am I doing wrong.
paintball9 Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 What is the status message, and tracker situation on the torrents in question?
elangsru Posted August 1, 2010 Author Report Posted August 1, 2010 Status msg: Error:??Tracker situation I dont know (where do I look - I use the webUI)
paintball9 Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 You'll have to access the main gui and look at the tracker tab and the status bar.
elangsru Posted August 1, 2010 Author Report Posted August 1, 2010 btw - the same torrent works fine on the mac...
paintball9 Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 Thats why i'm asking about tracker status, I'm guessing something is blocking communication, or the tracker is refusing a connection for some reason.
elangsru Posted August 1, 2010 Author Report Posted August 1, 2010 OK thanks. The error msg states: Error: Invalid download state, try resuming.Tracker, look here http://drp.ly/1sDvbr
paintball9 Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 Have you properly port-forwarded?The majority of those trackers are useless to you, you have udp and http versions of almost every one on that list (which both do the exact same thing) and you're just basically wasting bandwidth updating that many, 2 or 3 should have every peer and if you turn dht back on it should find the rest anyways regardless of how many trackers you have. Can you turn on error logging and see what the log shows when this happens.
elangsru Posted August 1, 2010 Author Report Posted August 1, 2010 thank you for your help so far. I am a novise at this so its better you look at my settings. I will post some more screendumps so you can guide me better.Btw this is what the errolog says. http://drp.ly/1sDCaO
paintball9 Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 You have multiple applications running on the same port, it could be another program on the same computer, but I'm guessing that you've set up both versions of utorrent to port forward on the same port number 10048. You need to set up separate ports for each system.
elangsru Posted August 1, 2010 Author Report Posted August 1, 2010 It seems i have not updated the port forward ip address. My server has changed ip since I updated it a while ago. I will try to change it. It also seems I have not enough space on c: for incomplete downloads, I will change drive aswell.Regarding the port. I only use 18364 on my server. The port is different on the mac version.
paintball9 Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 That should work but If the updating of your forwarding IP address doesn't fix it then read the next paragraph. That picture said it was trying to bind to 18357 are you sure its seperately port forwarded from the mac version, (Ignore my 10048 comment on the last post, I read the wrong line) Can you post your port-forward router config Screenshot?
