peterius
Hi, I've noticed that even when I'm not running uTorrent, I get spammed connection requests. I've tried having the firewall silently reject them or return a host not found to no effect. This is like clients out there, often the same ip address, that send a request every minute, hours after I've had the firewall reject or drop the connections. I'm wondering if this is something uTorrent is doing like not telling the tracker that the client is down when it quits, or if this is some bad clients out there that don't take ip addresses off their list if they're down, or spam requests too often. But I'm also wondering how often uTorrent requests connections by default, and also with the uTP stuff.
DreadWingKnight
Do you have any information on what clients specifically are doing this?
moogly
DHT. Some peers can try to connect to your client even if yours is disconnected few days ago or 1/2 weeks ago.
Switeck
If your ip is handed to other peers/seeds via DHT or Peer Exchange, those other peers/seeds will retry your ip again and often.
