Sage_viper Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 For some reason this version seems to download the files straight into my download folder (i.e. All files and folders from Download A all go in ...\downloads\ instead of ...\downloads\Download A\)At first I thought it was just poor download structure, the fault of the uploader, but now that it has happened at least 3 times to me I'm convinced uTorrent is to blame.Anything I may be missing? I have changed the default download location to a second HDD, if that makes a difference.
Firon Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 Which version of 2.2 are you running? When you said you changed the default location of the download folder, do you mean the Windows one or µTorrent's?
Sage_viper Posted August 3, 2010 Author Report Posted August 3, 2010 2.2 Beta Build 20813And uTorrent's, of course.
Sage_viper Posted August 5, 2010 Author Report Posted August 5, 2010 Oh, also, uTorrent's Upload Speed cap doesn't seem to work either. I cap it as to not draw too much attention from my ISP, but it is completely unrestrained. Also, just updated to 2.2 Beta build 20896
Switeck Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Did you tell uTorrent to also apply rate limit to uTP connections and/or overheads?
Sage_viper Posted August 5, 2010 Author Report Posted August 5, 2010 Huh, that's something I've never had to do in the past, but it seems to be working. Now I'm still having issues with the download folder path. I've done this several times before, I just had to reset it due to a recent reload. And it seems that after I updated to the 2.2 Beta, it doesn't download into the torrent's own respective folder within my \downloads\ folder.
Firon Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 It seems to work for me. What options have you changed under 'Directories'?
Sage_viper Posted August 6, 2010 Author Report Posted August 6, 2010 ---Location of Downloaded Files---[x] Put new downloads in: [ ]Always show dialog on manual addF:\downloads\So here's another example.I'm downloading Download A, Download A has the following files:DownloadA.isoreadme.txttxtfile.txtNormally, all three files should download to, in my case, "F:\Downloads\Download A"Instead all three files are going straight into "F:\Downloads"Which spreads them among other folders and files.
DreadWingKnight Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 which files of those are already present in f:\downloads when you load the torrent?
Sage_viper Posted August 6, 2010 Author Report Posted August 6, 2010 What do you mean? It's a unique download, if that's what you're asking. No files of the same name are present in my downloads folder. But what does that have to do with this Beta's seeming lack of function of creating folders for each torrent file? I mean, shouldn't downloading DownloadA.torrent automatically create the folder \DownloadA\ in my specified download location, which the torrent then downloads it's own file structure?
Marwell Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Yes, in <Preferences><Directories> Location of downloaded files:check: [X] Always show dialog on manual addand adding torrent file will be with dialog as usually!
Sage_viper Posted August 6, 2010 Author Report Posted August 6, 2010 I've never had it show dialog on manual add, I have it set to automatically download into said folder, and the program is simply NOT putting torrents into their respective folders.
