uTorrent -No active downloads yet UT keeps downloading ?

There is something strange going on. For the past few weeks, I am noticing that even when there are no active downloads, uTorrent still continues to be actively downloading something.

On an average I can consistently see +2kb/s being downloaded, the target size to be downloaded varies, but the downloading is continuous whenever I am seeding torrents. I carefully monitored it over the last 10hrs and found that about 78mb of data was downloaded.

Just cannot figure out whats happening. Am using utorrent since the last two years, but have never seen this happening before.

Have recently updated to 2.0.3 (Build 20664) but this problem began with my earlier version which otherwise used to run perfectly. Am using Escan v10 ISS and there appears to be no viruses in the system.

Most likely protocol overhead, especially if you have seeds.

DHT by itself can cause spikes as high as 8 KB/sec and may sustain speeds of 1-3 KB/sec.
