uTorrent 1.8.5+ drops internet connection

I've been using Azureus and uTorrent 1.6.1 so far, without any problems. Certain trackers demand newer uTorrent versions so i decided to try 1.8.5 build 17414 and I found that it drops my internet connection every ~20 minutes (sometimes it's 30, sometimes it's 10, but most of the times around 20-25 minutes). After that I tried uTorrent 2.0 build 18620 but the same thing happened.

There were no errors in event log, only one torrent was queued seeding in utorrent (in 1.6.1 I had over 100 seeding torrents). I tried disabling DHT, but that didn't changed anything.

Are there some major changes between 1.6.1 and later versions which would cause this kind of behaviour?

So, you are saying one queed seeding torrent with zero traffic is causing increased UDP traffic?

I had Azureus run 200+ torrents, and uTorrent 1.6.1 run 100+ torrents simultaneously without a problem. Also other machine connecting via this router is running uTorrent 2.0.2 without a problem.

While googling I found posts mentioning routers and UDP traffic but in this case that doesn't seem logical to me. :/

p.s. I forgot to mention - I'm using Win XP sp3.

Is Resolve IPs disabled?

Is Local Peer Discovery disabled?

Even a single seeding torrent could be receiving other seed connections (which get dropped), so connection pressure could exists even if you don't see it.

What does Logger window/tab say? (enable all but verbose logging)

Ok, I tried disabling Resolve IPs & Local Peer discovery, but uTorrent keeps dropping the line.

Logger says:

[2010-08-11 12:00:07] Warning: file integrity check failed (hash doesn't match): C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\uTorrent\settings.dat

[2010-08-11 12:00:07] Ignore this warning if you switched to 1.6.1 or older and back

ps. Somehow I couldn't login, when I tried to recover pass forum said my email wasn't in database (or something like that) so I created a new username.

p.p.s. I just found other logging options, I turned them on and if something comes up I'll post it here.

Just before my intenet connection dropped I got these:

[2010-08-11 13:24:20] UPnP: ERROR mapping TCP port 56880 -> 192.168.2.101:56880. Deleting mapping and trying again: (10060) Unknown result code (UPnP protocol violation?)

[2010-08-11 13:24:41] UPnP: ERROR removing TCP port 56880: (10060) Unknown result code (UPnP protocol violation?)

[2010-08-11 13:25:02] UPnP: ERROR mapping TCP port 56880 -> 192.168.2.101:56880: (10060) Unknown result code (UPnP protocol violation?)

Other than that I got bunch of messages like this

[2010-08-11 13:40:11] Incoming connection from 67.21.*.*:58523

[2010-08-11 13:40:11] 67.21.*.*:58523: Disconnect: Connection closed

I just downloaded utorrent and when I go to download a torrent it goes to windows media player and will not download to utorrent.. How do I get it to download directly to utorrent? Thanx

why don't you try to disable uPnP , set a static port, and just forward it in your router.

I have already forwarded the port in my router.

Anyway, disabling uPnP solved the problem, thank you all for your answers :)
