Generally on torrents the practice is to seed until you have uploaded as much as you have downloaded. (1 to 1 ratio). If everyone downloads the whole torrent but only uploads 10 percent then the torrent quickly dies because no one is remaining to seed it to new downloaders. You can change in your settings at what point utorrent will automatically stop it. Eg a set amount of time or until you hit a seeding goal. Default should be a 1.000 ratio.
