dirtbikerac
Hi,When I enter http://127.0.0.1:8080/gui/ into my browser, I am able to connect to my uTorrent and everything works fine. But when I enter in my actual ip address, I am not able to connect. Meaning, Chrome says, "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to..."I am just confused why this is not working. I am 99.99% sure I am entering in my ip address correctly. Any help is much appreciated!Alex
paintball9
You need to port-forward that port through your router so you can reach it externally. Normal routers will block incoming traffic on all ports (except sometimes 80 for router config page) as a security precaution.
dirtbikerac
Yeah, port 8080 is forwarded. That was my first idea at fixing the problem.
paintball9
Have you checked with an online port-checker to verify?
dirtbikerac
I seem to be having trouble with this. Online port checkers say port 8080 is closed. When I open uTorrent and press ctrl+G, and run the tests, and the network category is a big "X". I am kind of confused. There seem to be 2 different ports that uTorrent uses. There is 8080 for WebUI, and then in the Preferences->Connection category, it lists another port and says that port is used for all incoming connections. I am almost positive I port forwarded both the ports correctly and I am still not getting a good result.
paintball9
Do you have a modem as well?, Some models have firewalls, if so then you need to forward from that device to the router and then to your computer from the router.
