1.torrent?

Whenever I add a .torrent file to µTorrent, it re-creates it as 1.torrent. Ex: I add whatever.torrent to µTorrent and then it creates whatever.1.torrent. Why does it do that?

Also, I thought I would throw in this bonus question: In the columns for µTorrent, there's a "Downloaded" column and a "Completed" column. What's the difference between the two? They seem to show the exact same information.

P.S: I don't know if this is in the right forum or not, if it isn't, sorry.

Go to "Settings > Folder Options > Store .torrent files in: [uncheck]"

You should not receive any more duplicate torrents.

If you choose to seed a torrent that already exists on your hard drive but was not downloaded using µTorrent, then it will only show up as completed data. Any data downloaded within µTorrent will show up as downloaded AND completed data.

The thing is, I had around 100 .torrent files in my "torrent" folder inside of my ABC (the BT client I used before I switched) directory and I tried the "Automatically load torrents in directory" option to see if it would work so I didn't have to add all of the 100+ .torrent files manually, but it didn't work. So now I'm adding each and every one of the .torrent files from my "torrent" folder into µTorrent.

What I'm thinking I should do is uncheck the "Store .torrent files in" option for now, and then recheck it when I have added all of the 100+ .torrent files I had previously so all the new .torrent files I had into µTorrent will go in that same folder. You think that would solve my problem of getting duplicate .torrent files?

Aight man, thanks for the help and the quick replies. I greatly appreciate it. =D

BTW, is it safe to delete the 1.torrent files (the duplicates) µTorrent created or would that erase them off my µTorrent queue list? I dunno if I asked that right... =

---EDIT---

I see Undesirable went offline, can someone else answer this question for me?

Aight, thanks man. ^_^

NOTE TO THE ADMINS:

Feel free to close this topic now, my question as been answered.

---EDIT---

Undesirable, I just deleted the duplicated .torrent files, it deleted the downloads I had on my µTorrent queue list. ;_; That's what I was asking if it would do if I deleted the dupes. Bah, oh well. I can just re-add them. But still, thought I'd let you and anyone else reading this know that.

Thats odd. I didnt think uTorrent was depedent on the torrent files being present. And i dont think they are deleted from the %appdata%uTorrent folder until the torrents are removed from the list anyway.

This is an old issue, so I can't really remember what I did so they would have disappared from my torrent list but...I bet I deleted them off the AppData folder. Anyways, sorry for bumping an old post. I was just clarifying what I did.
