keknab
Hello guys,I have this question which has been bugging me for a long time. When you download a torrent and it completes, µTorrent automatically hides all other peers that have 100% complete from the Peers tab, why does it do that? What is the purpose of this? Can I turn this off? I want to see what's going on with the torrent, that means I also want to see how many other people are seeding.Sorry if I seem agitated but this question has been bugging me for a long time. Please enlighten me as to why this behaviour has been included and (apparently) accepted. Thanks!
DreadWingKnight
Why do you think that it's worthwile to waste resources on connections that are never going to do anything? This behavior was by protocol design before uTorrent ever came on the scene.Seeds don't retain connections to other seeds. No you can't turn this off. keknab
Thanks, at least you gave me a good answer, but not a satisfying one. I hope that someday we'll get to choose to switch this behaviour off, it's annoying not to be able to see who else is seeding imo.
DreadWingKnight
Connection slots while seeding are ONLY useful to have for downloaders. It is completely useless to maintain connections to other seeds while seeding.Tracker statistics are better suited to what you're doing (look at the X in swarm on the general tab)
