newboi
According to the FAQ for uTorrent's system requirements at http://www.utorrent.com/faq.php#What_are_.C2.B5Torrent.27s_system_requirements.3Finstallation "upgrades a system DLL that provides functionality for various µTorrent functions. However, it is not necessary for µTorrent to run. Without it, only the toolbar, graphs in the pieces view, and double clicks in the list view no longer function". And yet FAQ claims uTorrent is not installed, and to uninstall it you just need to delete the .exe file and (to be complete) the folder %AppData%\uTorrent.Does anyone know what is really going on during first running the program or during "installation". And what system DLL (or more??) is "upgraded" so that at least a backup can be made. Deleting the uTorrent .exe (if ever necessary) is not going to take care of whatever other changes might be going on to the system.Thanks.... your FAQ looks very diligent and it looks like a great program. But I'm always worried when things like this aren't explained. Help is appreciated.
terpio
I think you should read Faq one more time: "All 9x systems should have at least IE 4.0 installed: it upgrades a system DLL that provides functionality for various µTorrent functions. However, it is not necessary for µTorrent to run. Without it, only the toolbar, graphs in the pieces view, and double clicks in the list view no longer function." Not µTorrent, but IE 4.0 and above do .dll upgrades. µTorrent only require right version of that system .dll to work with full functionality in 9x windows systems. newboi
Ohhhhh excellent. I first read it that way, and then became a little bit worried. Many thanks for clarifying things. Much appreciated. I look forward to using the program.
