I selected OK, download the new version, and it appears to have slowed down all my downloads and more annoyingly, has code somewhere in it that only allows a download thats proportional to the upload. Many of us aren't greedy, but many times for a number of reasons we used to stick the sharing down to 2kbps and still get downloads of 500kbps etc... now to get a big download you have to do 2:1 upload, so u share 50kbps you get 100. I thought this was very underhanded of u to update utorrent like this without clearly specifying this. Im sorry, thats the way i feel. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
DreadWingKnight Posted August 31, 2010 Report Share Posted August 31, 2010 Considering the amount of detail in your problem report (what detail?), I can only conclude that you have used a youtube speedup guide's settings to configure uTorrent, therefore making your settings unsupported.With more information, we can troubleshoot your issue better, but the behavior you're describing doesn't happen unless YOUR settings or swarm conditions cause it to happen. joao2000 Posted August 31, 2010 Author Report Share Posted August 31, 2010 All I know is before the update of a few days ago, when i finally clicked ok on the popup, I was downloading at 340kbps for about two years, the limit i had it at, and that now i have to upload at 1:2,5 of whatever I want to download. My settings i did indeed configure them sometime ago, but they were working fine. My port is still open, it seems, my maximum global number of connections are at 150, my max number of pairs per torrent is at 90 and the number of upload slots is at 5. My max of active torrents is at 40, the max of active downloads is at 4. So i deduced, perhaps wrongly, it was a programming issue and the new version wanted me to start uploading more by force.Any other settings or swarm characteristics?Im staring now at something called ''Serve while (predetermined value) Ratio is less than equals a certain percentage.
