I have some suspicions; there are well known old problem with utorrent on Wine+FreeBSD:

Here is description with patch: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=45193

Explanation: "I think, this is a wine problem. Because getaddrinfo is called with ai_socktype=0 as hint, which makes the FreeBSD getaddrinfo fail with EAI_SERVICE, as seen in debugging output.

But this is valid on windows, so wine has to be extended on FreeBSD in order to prevent getaddrinfo calls with ai_socktype=0."

What You think about this?

Hi, I'm running Ubuntu 64bit server on OpenVZ container (Proxmox 1,7), Venet0 interface (I can't use bridge interface). I've installed last version of utorrent server (3.0-23418) but when I start utorrent recieve this output:

first execution:

root@srvtorrent:~/utorrent-server-v3_0# ./utserver server started - using locale en_US.UTF-8File not found during integrity check: ./settings.datFile not found during integrity check: ./settings.dat.newFile not found during integrity check: ./settings.dat.oldFile not found during integrity check: ./settings.datFile not found during integrity check: ./settings.dat.newFile not found during integrity check: ./settings.dat.oldGetNodeID failed, using /dev/randomFile not found during integrity check: ./dht.datFile not found during integrity check: ./dht.dat.newFile not found during integrity check: ./dht.dat.oldFile not found during integrity check: ./rss.datFile not found during integrity check: ./rss.dat.newFile not found during integrity check: ./rss.dat.oldFile not found during integrity check: ./resume.datFile not found during integrity check: ./resume.dat.newFile not found during integrity check: ./resume.dat.oldIPv6 is installed

after first execution:

root@srvtorrent:~/utorrent-server-v3_0# ./utserver server started - using locale en_US.UTF-8GetNodeID failed, using /dev/random

e when I try to add some torrent in GUI interface this is the status:

schermata20110117a02071.png

How can I do?

Hi.

A great thing! Install, configure on Ubuntu Server 10.04 x64 (kernel 2.6.32-27) .. Until two days running without errors.

Bad that the web interface is not available:

- do not see your comment torrent file

- list the name of the first working torrent tracker from the base URL (Tracker).

- log is written, but not displayed on the tab "Logger"

- date added torrent file

I have "Error ??", without any explanation.

Can I ask about more verbosity in logs? Please...

An engineer here committed changes to add a log entry whenever a torrent changes to an error state. That change won't be in the release I expect to have ready for today, but it will be in the next release.

I downloaded the latest build (24118) and I get this error when I try to start utorrent:

[root@utorrent utorrent-server-v3_0]# ./utserver./utserver: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I run build 21886 with no issues on the same vps. I'm running it in a CentOS 5.5 32bit OpenVZ container on my Proxmox server. OpenSSL is already installed on my vps as well as openssl-devel. Does this build require a different version to run than the previous builds? I currently have openssl-0.9.8e-12.el5_5.7.i686 installed.

New version up! There's no specific changelog' date=' but it's basically updating the codebase with fixes from the 3.0 alpha branch, which should fix various bugs and crashes.[/quote']

This new version resolved my problem! Very good!

It seems work very well but when it start I can see again:

root@srvtorrent:~/utorrent-server-v3_0# ./utserver

server started - using locale en_US.UTF-8

GetNodeID failed, using /dev/random

What do it means with "GetNodeID failed"?

Now I have working torrent, downoad in progress.

There are quirks, I describe it later.

Good work!

Configutation : FreeBSD7.1/32

/etc/rc.conf:

linux_enable="YES"

/etc/sysctl.conf:

 compat.linux.osrelease=2.6.16

Linux emulator:

linux_base-gentoo-stage3-20110118
The first attempt to run a utserver:

/usr/local/utserver/utserver: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

/usr/local/utserver/utserver: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypto.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

The cause: in linux_base-gentoo-stage3-20110118 are only newer libraries: libssl.so.1.0.0 libcrypto.so.1.0.0

So, I do patches:

/usr/compat/linux/usr/lib

ln -s libssl.so.1.0.0 libssl.so.0.9.8ln -s libcrypto.so.1.0.0 libcrypto.so.0.9.8

/

usr/local/utserver/utserver: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8: no version information available (required by /usr/local/utserver/utserver)

/usr/local/utserver/utserver: /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8: no version information available (required by /usr/local/utserver/utserver)

server started - using locale C

This issue was solved, but is next:

Can't create pid file '/var/tmp/utserver.pid': 30 ????? Can't create pid file '/var/tmp/utserver.pid': 30 ?????

This is strange, because in the previous version was OK.

The solution - removal of "-pidfile ${PIDFILE}"

Configuration of utserver.conf:

Important: preferred_interface must be set! (Otherwise, many errors)l

ogmask: 0xFFFFFFFF

Directories:

dir_active: /mnt/utserver/incoming

dir_completed: /mnt/O

dir_torrent_files: /mnt/utserver/torrentfiles

dir_completed_torrents: /mnt/utserver/torrentfiles-done

dir_temp_files: /mnt/utserver/incomplete

dir_autoload: /mnt/utserver/autoload

dir_autoload_delete: 1

General comments:

The effect of any error in file utserver.conf is - data from the file are not read.

It looks like the file settings.dat has higher priority, than utserver.conf .

Bad settings from settings.dat override good setting from utserver.conf

(from previous start, with errors in utserver.conf )

Solution: removing files: settings.dat.old and settings.dat

PC: Windows7/64 + IE9

In tab [speed] graph is working, but is invisible.

General comment:

Graph is only a toy, tab [Peers] would be much more useful!

I totally agree with the graph thing, but have you tried this:

I have the same problem as frankm :

[root@utorrent utorrent-server-v3_0]# ./utserver

./utserver: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Tried to link libssl 0.9.8e on CentOS 5.5 but did not work .

Hello on CentOS 5.5 I had same problem too.

I use this workaround:

$ cd utorrent-server-v3_0 (or your utorrent directory)

$ ln -s /lib/libssl.so.0.9.8e libssl.so.0.9.8 (create a fake lib outside the system's library directory, DON'T messed up system's lib directory)

$ ln -s /lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8e libcrypto.so.0.9.8

$ /lib/ld-linux.so.2 --library-path <your full path to utorrent's directory> ./utserver

I hope in a static build next one ;-)
