I have some suspicions; there are well known old problem with utorrent on Wine+FreeBSD:

Explanation: "I think, this is a wine problem. Because getaddrinfo is called with ai_socktype=0 as hint, which makes the FreeBSD getaddrinfo fail with EAI_SERVICE, as seen in debugging output.

But this is valid on windows, so wine has to be extended on FreeBSD in order to prevent getaddrinfo calls with ai_socktype=0."

Hi, I'm running Ubuntu 64bit server on OpenVZ container (Proxmox 1,7), Venet0 interface (I can't use bridge interface). I've installed last version of utorrent server (3.0-23418) but when I start utorrent recieve this output:

first execution:

Bad that the web interface is not available:

- do not see your comment torrent file

- list the name of the first working torrent tracker from the base URL (Tracker).

- log is written, but not displayed on the tab "Logger"

- date added torrent file

An engineer here committed changes to add a log entry whenever a torrent changes to an error state. That change won't be in the release I expect to have ready for today, but it will be in the next release.

No, we have stated before that we cannot target ARM systems, as they are not as generic as x86 linux systems. We do provide ARM binaries, but only for partners to embed with their hardware and all the support needed for that to happen.

I just downloaded build 24118 and looked at the Server_Changes file (in all 3 file-types), and it looks like it wasn't updated from the last download (23418).

I downloaded the latest build (24118) and I get this error when I try to start utorrent:

I run build 21886 with no issues on the same vps. I'm running it in a CentOS 5.5 32bit OpenVZ container on my Proxmox server. OpenSSL is already installed on my vps as well as openssl-devel. Does this build require a different version to run than the previous builds? I currently have openssl-0.9.8e-12.el5_5.7.i686 installed.

The first attempt to run a utserver:

/usr/local/utserver/utserver: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

/usr/local/utserver/utserver: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypto.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

The cause: in linux_base-gentoo-stage3-20110118 are only newer libraries: libssl.so.1.0.0 libcrypto.so.1.0.0

So, I do patches:

/usr/compat/linux/usr/lib

ln -s libssl.so.1.0.0 libssl.so.0.9.8ln -s libcrypto.so.1.0.0 libcrypto.so.0.9.8

/

usr/local/utserver/utserver: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8: no version information available (required by /usr/local/utserver/utserver)

This issue was solved, but is next:

Hello on CentOS 5.5 I had same problem too.

I use this workaround:

$ cd utorrent-server-v3_0 (or your utorrent directory)

$ ln -s /lib/libssl.so.0.9.8e libssl.so.0.9.8 (create a fake lib outside the system's library directory, DON'T messed up system's lib directory)

$ ln -s /lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8e libcrypto.so.0.9.8

$ /lib/ld-linux.so.2 --library-path <your full path to utorrent's directory> ./utserver

I hope in a static build next one ;-)

utorrent 24118 segfaults just after loading by settings.dat file.

This file works OK in utorrent-server-3.0-23418. If I delete the settings.dat, utserver starts without any problems.

My bad, the settings.dat was from a Windows version of utorrent. I used BEncode Editor to delete all references to C:\ and completely also removed the Apps settings branch. This fixed the problem.
