Does uTorrent require a SOCKS Proxy

Hi,

I have a proxy im trying to setup. Do i have to set up a SOCKS Proxy or can i arrange the proxy directly in uTorrent? I found an option for proxy, but I'm unsure what all is required i do.

If you're trying to use the proxy for all the traffic, only tracker updates will work if you're not using a SOCKS proxy...and even then udp and HTTPS tracker updates probably won't work.

When you say all traffic do you mean for my torrent traffic, web browsing, etc? im trying to just have this single program use the proxy. Is SOCKS proxy good or bad? which kind of proxy should i be thinking of using?

I meant ALL for all of uTorrent's traffic. It's brutal on a proxy, even a good one...and seed/peer connections simply *MUST* use a SOCKS proxy to work.

Even a SOCKS proxy won't work with uTP seeds/peers, Teredo/IPv6, DHT, Local Peer Discovery, or Resolve IPs.
