jkeats
This is something that has only started happening over the past month or so...really since the last two updates to UTorrent.I open the program and it starts downloading/uploading, port is forwarded and open, DHT is disabled, speedtest run...and after about 5-10 minutes it crashes my internet connection. I have to reboot both my modem and router. It's the same equipment I've had for a year and never had this issue until a month or so ago.My router is a Netgear Wireless N 300 Model WNR2000v2I have DHT disabled and had the upload set to 180 kps.I even tried uninstalling UTorrent and reinstalling. Still get the same issue.I've seen the issue before from some other posters but none of the fixes offered have helped my situation. Any ideas on what to try? jkeats
OK, completely uninstalled it, deleted the Utorrent folder under Application Data as well. Reinstalled it and went through the Setup Guide step by step. I also disabled DHT and used the Max Connections chart (link 2) to set it up for my speed.Still having the same problem occur. After the application is active for about 10 minutes or so, the bandwith starts dropping. If I catch it before it hits zero and close UTorrent, I can usually just do a Repair for my connection status and the internet connection will be working again. If it drops all the way to zero, it completely knocks out my internet connection, necessitating a reboot of my modem and router.I also used the "slow internet connection" steps from Link 1 as well.I've used UTorrent for years. I have had this modem/router setup since last December and it has always worked fantastic, so it's not that. Just recently, again with the recent updates to the program, have I been having this issue.Any other ideas?
Switeck
I am completely missing what your uTorrent settings are, what the speeds of your connection are, and other details that while seem "unchanged" or "non-issues"...could easily be clues to what triggers your problem.uTorrent v2.x uses UDP aggressively -- due to uTP peers/seeds, Teredo/IPv6, DHT, and Resolve IPs. This can easily be much harder on the average consumer router than v1.8.x using only TCP...even if you changed no settings when you upgraded. Switeck
I seem these:Port Forwarded: 46863bt. transp_disposition: 15Let me guess...you at some point tried settings from YouTube uTorrent "speedup" videos and you still have some settings changed based on them?...And you're not running a recent or supported version of uTorrent?I guess Nero's Indexer is configured correctly, or you'd probably be mentioning "access denied" messages in uTorrent:O23 - Service: NMIndexingService - Nero AG - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nero\Lib\NMIndexingService.exeZone Alarm is the most likely mostly to blame for your crashing internet connection. jkeats
No. I've never tried settings from Youtube's "speedup" videos. I'm not even sure what that is.And I have the most recent version of UTorrent. I downloaded it from this site. The only changes I've made to settings, including the ones you listed, are ones that were suggested in the links you provided. I made a typo on bt. transp_disposition, it was meant to be "5" not "15".I just listed the port that was set up for port forwarding in case you needed it. Switeck
"No. I've never tried settings from Youtube's "speedup" videos. I'm not even sure what that is."Consider yourself not suffering the curse of knowing those bits of distilled madness then. Your port was just incidentally remotely close to what some suggested to use.bt.transp_disposition = 5 means don't use the latest headers (which means you'll connect to mostly older, buggy clients) but do only TCP peer/seed connections both in and out. (No uTP in other words.)bt.transp_disposition = 21 should use the latest headers but still restrict itself to TCP only.
