timmo58
I downloaded the first disc of a TV series (DEXTER) recently. It was a 4.32 GB download which translated to a 1.67 GB upload. For some reason I was charged by my provider for 18GB plus of usage.Any ideas about why the usage was so high?Tim
jalandar
Don't know what you mean by "translated to a 1.67GB upload" but you were charged that because you used that much bandwidth. Chances are you left the client seeding and used up 13.5GB of bandwidth seeding it back.Or you did 13.5GB of other bandwidth usage in addition to your torrent download.Monitor your torrents better. timmo58
I probably expressed that wrongly. 1.6 GB was what the upload amount was. How then can I control the bandwith use better? Is the dowload always seeded back or can you control that?
moogly
Use the Transfer Cap feature in µT, it has been designed for this purpose.
timmo58
Thanks. So in this case is it possible to control the amount of usage? For example if I'm downloading a 4.6 GB file like the one that I did, can I keep that usage to 4.6 GB? DreadWingKnight
Because of the upload requirement on the torrent protocol, no.
