Connecting to tracker through a proxy?

I have a problem. I live with someone while im going to college who is VERY over the top scared of getting caught torrenting...like extreme. So he is the lease holder and has Open DNS set up to block it. I used proxies to get around and download the torrents and they seemed to be working fine. However, now most of the torrents I try to download just wont in the past few days. I don't know what makes the difference in me actually connecting to peers or not but all my torrents show an error like this

Name Status Update In Seeds Peers Downloaded

[DHT] waiting for announce... 0 0 0

[Local Peer Discovery] working 0 0 0

[Peer Exchange] working 0 0 0

http://tracker.openbittorrent.com/announce HTTP Error 404 11m 51s 0 0 0

http://tracker.thepiratebay.org/announce HTTP Error 404 11m 53s 0 0 0

udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80/announce Connection timed out. 3m 52s 0 0 0

udp://tracker.thepiratebay.org:80/announce Connection timed out. updating... 0 0 0

Is there a way to use a proxy to connect to the trackers? My guess is I just cannot find any peers or seeders, since open dns can't actually block the connections themselves very well correct? Im using my own laptop running of wireless.

EDIT: Okay, im not quite sure whats happening but all my torrents that were "downloading" but not actually doing anything just all started working at once. Is this a slip up in Open DNS? or is this utorrent possibly figuring out my proxy im using on firefox's foxyproxy? I dunno..anyone know much on this?

my trackers are still reporting as all error 404 and failure's but it found people and its going full speed now.

It also seems that DHT went from "waiting to announce" to "working" as well causing my downloads to start.
