Creasy Posted October 14, 2005 Report Posted October 14, 2005 I have tested many Torrent clients and, for me, µTorrent is the best!BitComet, BitTornado, Artic Torrent, BitSpirit, ABC, …I can't understand why so many clients are developed with Java or Python !Python is oriented network, ok, but, it's not a good reason for me !In my computerG3 : crash often :? Artic : crash all the time  Azureus : too big and, I don't like program witch needs a Virtual Machine550 Ko for Artic with no functions? I will be curious to look in the code. The interface of µTorrent is without fault. No search tools on the web witch are often catastrophic and need a window a big as a browser. No Logo disproportionate. No gadgets. No Paypal icon (but be sure that I will give - the good developers must be recognized)The stability is present. I have tested for 24 hours non-stop and without crash. More than 5Go downloaded. Many functions. And all this on only 91 Kb ! You are the King of Magic! Thank you for this.
Aeon17x Posted October 14, 2005 Report Posted October 14, 2005 Strike that one up for the upcoming User Reviews section of the site. 8)
winMX_67 Posted October 14, 2005 Report Posted October 14, 2005 550 Ko for Artic with no functions? I will be curious to look in the code. I second that. None of the torrents ever every connected and arctic was using 100% CPU!!
Niceguy Posted October 14, 2005 Report Posted October 14, 2005 I can't understand why so many clients are developed with Java or Python !Python is oriented network, ok, but, it's not a good reason for me !generally because it's faster to develop in. iirc the utorrent developers took the other path, steering away from ready-made generalized classes such as mfc, boost etc, and instead likely writing their own functionality as optimized as possible for this specific purpose. either way the result is awesome.
Creasy Posted October 15, 2005 Author Report Posted October 15, 2005 Niceguy, I think that you are right.MFC.. . ..yes. . .I know it . .to have used it.I Prefer Qt
BlackLion Posted October 15, 2005 Report Posted October 15, 2005 I like the fact that the developers are proving that you CAN make a BT client without all the bells and whistles and it still will provide great functionality without bringing your box to its knees. Whatever they are doing, they can just keep doing it. Im happy with it really.
