andreo Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 Why I can't load simultaneously more than 4 torrents? As it is possible to increase this? Thks.
Switeck Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 I've got over 50 torrents loaded. But I've only got 12 torrents started...and of them only 3 are actually active at the moment. But I am running uTorrent v2.0.4 build 22450 with modified settings.
Ultima Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 What do you mean by "load"? Do you mean "start"?
rafi Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 pref->queuing->max # of ... Why can't any of you experts just give the man a strait answer...
Ultima Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 It's called trying not to make assumptions on ambiguity. Stop assuming that we're being deliberately obtuse and just dancing around the issue because we have nothing better to do than to waste time for both the user and for ourselves to have to come back and follow up. Sorry for the sharp reply, but seriously, you always seem to keep that impression of us around here, and it's false, annoying, and unconstructive.
rafi Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 I'm sorry if you feel that way, cause it's completely not true! Far from it. But, thanks for the feedback. I have also edited in the correct smily... And to your question:It's called not making assumptions. Please tell -- because I would love to know -- how you know he meant the number of queued torrents when he said "load"?I don't know. I assumed/estimated two possibilities: download, or upload, and my "max # of ..." answer - should hopefully cover both... But, hey, we'll know soon enough... and I might be wrong too... No hard feelings, I hope
Ultima Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 No, I don't think you're wrong, because that was also what I was assuming in my original reply (just wanted the OP's confirmation first). I simply prefer not to answer directly until I know more of the facts, definitions, and assumptions. It's generally how I tend to do things, because I hate unclarity, and because giving irrelevant tips can just as easily send users down the wrong path on a wild goose chase (especially if there's a language barrier). Sometimes, even the user isn't sure of what he writes until you clarify with him. Additional benefit: the user learns the correct term, and hopefully shouldn't confuse anybody else in the future (the proverbial giving a man a fish vs teaching him to fish). Talking at people sucks; communicating with people is more constructive for both parties.Anyhow -- as long as we've gotten this aside straightened out -- moving along...
