Carson Dyle Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 The alternate row background coloring is helpful for distinguishing rows. However, the idea of using the alternate background for the sorted column is very bad. First, it's unnecessary, as it's easily seen by the arrow in the column headers which column is being sorted. But the bigger problem is that it breaks up the visual continuity of the row coloring, which make it more difficult to follow a row across the screen. This is particularly true when you've sorted by a wide column such as Name, which it makes it very difficult to accurately read a row the whole way across the screen.

lithopsian Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 Possibly you want this just on the sorted column to make it stand out better? Otherwise, try the suggested option.
GTHK Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Pretty sure this has been mentioned before long ago, still pisses me off that it behaves that way.
