RafVne2 Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 So... I've got 3 drives C:,D:, and F:...C:... windows 7... i usually use that one....D:... storage unit... Utorrent files are located here... as in ... D:\incomplete, D:\completed,D:\ torrentsF:... recently installed XPpro for gaming purposes only... but... I'd like to keep seeding while I play... Seeding the stuff I have downloaded while logged in into WIN7.So... how do I set up Utorrent to read anything, that I have done while logged in to windows 7, to read it when I'm logged in into XPpro?...... I know... it's hard to explain, but I hope you know what I have in mind...
moogly Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 You can use µT as standalone (read FAQ).Of course, µT executed from F: needs to have access to the files stored on D:.
RafVne2 Posted October 20, 2010 Author Report Posted October 20, 2010 Hmmm... it really doesn't say much... even though I have run UT from XPpro and defined directories to "completed" "incomplete", It still doesn't resume the ongoing torrents that have been in "queue" "seeding"in WIN 7... i don't know where file containing all of the "current active torrents" is located.
moogly Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 It's in the folder %appdata%\utorrent on the disk where you installed µT (C: in your case I guess).
RafVne2 Posted October 20, 2010 Author Report Posted October 20, 2010 Yeah I've found it in appdata/roaming/utorrent but I can't set up utorrent installed on XP to access those files. So now... basically I have two separate utorrent installations... one on Win7, and one on XP... so If I have downloaded something while logged in in Win7... I can't continue seeding it while logged into XPThanks for your help anyways... unless you have any idea how to make it work...
moogly Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 That's why I said you to run µT as standalone.Move the contents of %appdata%\utorrent into the same folder than utorrent.exe then move this folder onto D:. So XP and Win 7 will have access to D: and you will be able to run µT.
