xZildjian Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 Alright so my knowledge isnt too great when it comes to Torrenting (otherwise I guess I wouldnt be posting this), but i know the basics. When downloading my torrent it started off pritty well gaining a download speed of around 700kB/s (Which is Max speeds for where I live) The Download got to 50% and I decided I wanted to play an Online Game on the computer. so I paused the torrent, closed uTorrent off and played my game.Once I got back to the Torrent it seemed to be very slow, I was getting 100kB/s being the Max. So I restarted the computer thinking that my computer was just being slow. Started the torrent back up again. and it averaged around 30kB/s and is currently downloading at a steady 2kB/s.Seeds are currently: 43(2054)Peers are currently : 7(577)My Antivirus is Bullguard and I tried disabling the Firewall completely to check that it wasnt the problem. Here is a Link of the torrent speeds etc. (Don't see how this will help, but it might)http://i51.tinypic.com/2zecw1e.jpgThe torrent will take weeks if it goes on like this. Thanks for your Time.
xZildjian Posted October 20, 2010 Author Report Posted October 20, 2010 Update: Turned PeerBlock and uTorrent off for a while whilst I did something else. opened them back up to Leech > Seed overnight, and it is now downloading at speeds of 650kB/s.I still dont understand the problem since I didnt do anything different and didnt change anything. My answer to my own question for you guys out their which feel they have tried everything that is posted on this website. Just leave it for a bit, and try it later, problems can sometimes fix themselves ^^.
Switeck Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 1st (slow speed/interrupted internet sections) and 2nd links in my signature. Also try rafi's uTorrent v2.0.X Migration Guide here: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=74820...It's also possible your ISP is throttling/disrupting torrent traffic.
