Drexel-555 Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 I have custom built my computer. I'm 24 and I've been working and using computers since I was 6 years old. My system is built flawlessly and booted the first time I completed the rig. It hasn't had problems for nearly a year or more now.Recently on my way to work I was downloading a file and was running late. I hate leaving my computer up and I normally shut it down. So Out of random happenstance I decided to just enable the "After downloads finish, shutdown my PC"I got home last night and my Mother F****ing computer wont even boot the f*** up.I use expletives because I want you to understand how upset I am about this. The only movement I can get my computer to make is after unplugging the Power Supply and plugging it back in. The Fan on the back of my system will "twitch" or move just a slight amount, then my Razor mouse scroll light and laser on the bottom will flash as well. This is the only thing my computer will do right now.So far I have tried nearly every step on the check list, minus checking for a standout short on the Mobo, or removing the Cmos.. I will be continuing to go thru repairs steps tonight...But.. I am posting this to see if this has been reported by anyone else, and a fix has been found?Again, No changes have been made on my machine for the last year or more. The last thing that was done on my computer was all Programs shutdown Except for Bittorrent, then Bit Torrent was set to Shutdown automatically after Downloads finish...Please tell me you know whats wrong and why this happened. I really don't want to have to buy a new PSU to test it, or a new On Switch to test that...Because this is what the computer is acting like is the problem.....If you f***ed up my computer...I'm really mad at you dude...I'm ragin bro.. lol..but seriously..wtf would this of happened???
DreadWingKnight Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Considering the level of damage that would be required to cause this problem, it's bordering on impossible for a userspace application to do this.Basically, what happened is actually outside of the scope of what problems our software can cause.
Drexel-555 Posted October 23, 2010 Author Report Posted October 23, 2010 This is exactly what I was thinking as well, but Cause and effect does apply...I've never had this problem before, until my computer shutdown, per BitTorrents request. I understand how you are stating that your program couldn't of caused it. Although depending on the procedure BitTorrent takes to shut down the computer...couldn't it of caused something?Iunno....I'm just trying to find an easy fix bro... Occam's razor says it's the PSU, Power Switch, or My Mobo Shorting?.....I'm so sad man.. I have AvA on Monday with my Agency on Global agenda..booooooo...
DreadWingKnight Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Although depending on the procedure BitTorrent takes to shut down the computer...couldn't it of caused something?BitTorrent tells windows to go through the normal shutdown procedure using an api call. Windows takes it from there.
Drexel-555 Posted October 23, 2010 Author Report Posted October 23, 2010 Thanks Bud...I'll begin the horrible check list tonight when I get home from work. Left the fucker sitting Mobo unplugged and slightly dismantled hoping the beast calms down and boots tonight.P.S. I LOVE YOU BITTORRENT!! UTorrent STILL Blue screens my computer! Bit Torrent Hasn't ever given me a problem! Now that I've made sure, Still to this Day It's only helped me! =)Thanks for the Super Fast Replies!Love,Loyal BitTorrent user
