Hi all,

Been using utorrent for years and never had a real problem... until now. I'm using utorrent version 2.0.4 build 22150

I am trying to use a program for my android phone called torrent fu (http://torrent-fu.com/). It lets me download torrents on my computer at home with an instruction from my smartphone.

Anyways, I had it set up previously and it worked marvelously. Then I wiped my phone and I am trying to set it up again and am having problems.

I followed the instructions here to a T. http://torrent-fu.com/getting-started/

I can get it set up so that I can enter localhost:port/gui and see web ui.

What I cannot do however, is type localipaddresss:port/gui and see the web ui. My android ap won't work until i can get this to work.

I have no i have no idea why this is not working. I have my ports forwarded. I used utorrent's port forwarding test, and it works.

Have you come across this before? Any advice?

Thanks guys:D

What IP address are you trying to use? Your 192.168.x.x address or your public IP?

Is your android phone connecting via your cellular data network or your home wifi when you try?

My public ip (from my computer connected to my internet) does not show up. (My 168 doesn't show up either, for that matter.

My android is connected to my cell network. But i think currently the problem is with utorrent/my computer not allowing remote access, not my phone.

Thanks for the help. I'm happy to give any more info that you need.

Try connecting to your computer's 192.168.x.x address with your phone connected to your home wireless network.

Then configure your router to port forward the port used by the webui to your computer.

OK I just went to 192.168.1.1 from my droid on my home network and checked port forwarding. The port that webui uses is already forwarded. (again, i used utorrent's port check app and it comes back that its properly forwarded.) --port 666.

Other advice? Thanks.

Are you basing that on the main listen port for uTorrent or the alternate webui port in the webui preferences?

Alternate listening port is turned off. Im basing it on my default utorrent port. 666, for what its worth.

Try with the alternate listen port turned on, forward that, and use it.

Use a port between 40000 and 65535

my god. this is so frustrating I have followed the exact same steps listed at portforward.com and cannot get my new port to successfully forward.

port 666: "Port is open. Your network is properly configured."

port 40666: "Port is not open. (You are still able to download.)"

My router settings are the same for both ports. Posting screenshots.

Sooo frustrating.

666 works

40666 does not work.

Thanks for the help.

A couple other thoughts:

1) I'm pretty sure that webui worked through port 666 before. Why do you suggest that the port should be above 40,000?

2) Does it have anything to do with uPnP and NAN PMP port mapping? (both are checked)

Still can't get it.

Port 666 forwards according to the utorrent diagnostic.

Port 40666 still does not.

As far as I can tell, they are set up exactly the same in my router.

Does anyone know if "host" or "dynamic" should be checked? see below. (brobably won't fix it, but grasping at straws.)

Well, for some reason both ports are open now.

It might have been me adding a static ip. (but im not sure why that would work for one port and not the other.)

At any rate, thanks for all the help.

One more note for people who might have found this post through google, watch out for android's automatic spacing when you type you address, port, etc into torrent fu.

What was the solution to this? I'm having the exact same problem.

I've set a static IP.

webUI alternative listening port 8080 is forwarded in my router and allowed in my firewall.

I can enter http://localhost:8080/gui and see web ui.

I cannot enter http://[iP address]:8080/gui - [iP address] from whatismyip.com - and see web ui.

Any suggestions?
