Donkadonk Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 In a sticky in the troubleshooting section it says:For contacting the tracker:Protocol: TCP, direction: Outbound, Remote port: <tracker port>, Allow itFor inbound and outbound (if needed) loopback:Protocol: TCP, direction: Inbound, Remotehost: 127.0.0.1, Allow iFor listening port:Protocol: TCP, Direction: Inbound, Remote Port: 1024-65535 (for example), Local Port: <your uTorrent port>, Allow itFor UDP:Protocol: UDP, Remote port:1024-65535 (for example), Local Port: <your uTorrent port>, Allow it.I'm pretty sure that my firewall disallows all traffic over a certain port somewhere around 1024. Is there a way to make sure that the remote port is under that limit? For example, can I make utorrent connect from (on my machine) ports under net.outgoing_max_port to ports under (on the remote machine) some value I set? Thanks!
Switeck Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 *ALL* the ephemeral ports that web browsers use to connect (as outgoing ports) to distant websites are way beyond port 1024.If the firewall is blocking remote ports beyond 1024, you are quite likely screwed.
