budachild Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 For some reason I started noticing that all of my torrents slow down to a crawl during the daytime. This never used to happen before. Speeds were always at max during the day and night. On various torrents from a variety of places, all were good usually at max speed. Now everything is slow to a crawl during the daytime... From the moment I wake up until I hit the bed at night it all slows down to a crawl. I don't know why... I have never had this problem for years. But once I hit the bed around midnight all torrents always start maxing out at amazing speeds like they used to during the day. They stay fast until the sun rises, and than back to slow speeds again. The problem eludes me and I don't know what to think or do. My isp is Netscape, which is owned by AOL I believe... It's Netscape but in Canada...Anyways if you can help give me tips please do and I'd be glad to try them out.
lithopsian Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Most likely your ISP is throttling P2P or perhaps everything during certain hours. Or perhaps they just have a rubbish network that gets swamped when you and your neighbours are all on at the same time.Netscape/Canada are supposed to have been throttling for years but perhaps they have just changed the mechanism for you or it kicked in for some other reason. The first steps are to try changing your ports to something different or something random and turn off DHT. Try forcing encryption and only accepting encrypted incoming requests.
Switeck Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Try testing without trackers...or only connect to trackers through a proxy/VPN.
