FroggyQc Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Yesterday I decided to take a chance with uTorrent 1.5!Now I have 99.9 of a 700megs file!I'm squeeze there since 9 hours!Always hashfails! In total, 189 hashfails for a total of 104.7megs!Will it stop or what?Very bad situation! Is there something to do or just scrap the file?
Firon Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 It's either 1) a poisoned torrent2) the Azureus 2.4.0.0 bug with Protocol Encryptionor 3) http://www.utorrent.com/faq.php#I_get_tons_of_hashfails_on_my_torrents_and_the_torrent_never_finishes
FroggyQc Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 Hi Firon!Defenitely, that's not a poisoned torrent, so we eliminate the first possibility, and for the D-Link router settings, that's not about that also because I completed other downloads. So only the 2nd possibilty's left so is there a way to banned Azureus user's?Will I get the file one day? Thanks
FroggyQc Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 Firon!I think I've been enough patient for a piece of 512K!It's making more than 10 hours that this piece is failing!Even if I'm not connected to Azureus peers, I'm having hashfailed!I never saw something like that exect here! The file is good, my connection is good, but the program have some problems somewhere!
Firon Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 No, there's nothing wrong with the client. Is the same piece failing over and over?
FroggyQc Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 Yes Firon! Always the same piece!Anyways, I gave up!I deleted the file!I realy don't understand what happened here but anyways, I'm gonna complete another download probably tomorrow, and if everything's ok, I'll let you know! You built a nice program for sure and work good also!Just strange about this file because everything's ok about the file!More than 3000 peers have it at 100%!My connection work fine! That was my 3 rd DL with uTorrent so we'll se for the others! Thanks anyways!
Firon Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Always the same piece... um, that's usually the sign of the DMZ issue I linked to. It doesn't affect all torrents, that's the thing. Check your DMZ setting on the router.
FroggyQc Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 Ok look! About your DMZ!The only thing I have about D-Link here is my Ethernet card!I have a D-Link DFE-528TX PCI Adapter!I'm trying to look for the DMZ and se absolutly nothing in the configuration of this PCI adapter!I've been using many torrent programs, even with uTorrent I completed 3 downloads! Are you sure it's something about that?
FroggyQc Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 Defenitly, I have no router here!Just a basic CPU with a normal connection! Not connected to any router!
Firon Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 And your modem, is it a regular modem? Some modems are also routers.Does this only happen with this torrent, or another? Is it a public torrent?
FroggyQc Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 Like I said before, I've been able to download 3 other files without troubles!Only this one!For my modem, I realy don't know if there's a router in there! I don't think so!For the download, it's available on every torrent website! Like I said more than 3000 users have it at 100%!Anyways, I'll see with my other torrents what it gonna do!I'm gonna try to find a small torrent file to make a test right now!
Firon Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Is it a public torrent or not? It sounds like it is. Public torrents are often poisoned, and the scrape values are usually fake.
FroggyQc Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 Yeah! That's defenitely a public torrent! But how it can be possible to see so many users having it at 100% if it's poisoned?I'm a bit surprised about that Firon!Anyways, I'll give news tomorrow about my other torrents! You can be right about it!Thanks anyways for everything Firon!
Firon Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Like I said, the user values shown can be faked, and they usually are for poisoned or fake torrents.
Kazuaki Shimazaki Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Oh, sheesh. Why don't you just open up some other program (Az, BC ... etc) if you are that desperate for the file?
FroggyQc Posted March 12, 2006 Author Report Posted March 12, 2006 Hi Firon! To give you some news about my downloads, I completed some during the week-end!About Hashfails, I can say that I'm starting to panic! :-)Nearly for every downloads, I'm having more than 100 hashfails!Yesterday, with a file of 712megs, I download a total of 1.9gigs and still not complete!I think there was about 1000+ hashfails.Like I said, I have no Router, Firewalls are OFF and I never saw that before!I can understand that some files can be corrupted but on every files to get hashfails like that, I'm surprised! If there's a way to create a update of uTorrent to give options to block different clients it will be the best thing! But I don't know if it's possible!Anyways, I will make different tests with other Torrent program and will compare which one's getting the highest score of hashfails!I'll give some news!
