Beta won't start under Linux/Wine

The stable version of uTorrent worked like a charm. I just tried the 22732 beta build, and I get the following error 3 or 4 times before it quits:

err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x4c2dc8 "?" wait timed out in thread 0009, blocked by 001d, retrying (60 sec)

I'm running Wine 1.1.42 under Debian Testing...

Any help would be most appreciated! :)

I've been reading up on how to do that. I'm somewhat noobish, and have had minimal success compiling stuff from source in the past--but I'll take another stab at it!

Thanks for the responses... :)

Okay.

I managed to compile the latest development version of wine (an accomplishment in itself!).

$ wine --version

wine-1.3.5

I started the same build of utorrent as I did under my "outdated" version of wine

and got the same error.

err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x4c2dc8 "?" wait timed out in thread 0009, blocked by 001d, retrying (60 sec)

:/

Actually, here's ALL the output from the terminal window:

Here's the latest:

I added the beta utorrent to winecfg and indicated it should run as Windows 7. It does open now, but it's running close to 100% cpu on one of the cpu's on my dual core machine. It's very laggy...

Lot's of these messages going by:

fixme:xrender:XRender_AlphaBlend not supported - XRENDER headers were missing at compile time
