Mcdn Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Hi there,Im still using uTorrent 1.8.4 (build 18866) and I, for the first time, now got an error about not having an up-to-date uTorrent. The problem is that I have 138 active torrents running and don't want to loose them. OR have to manual re add them. I tried it first on my notebook. Downloaded/installed 1.8.4 (build 18866), added some torrents and from the GUI: tab Help --> Check for update --> and it asked for installing 2.0.4 (build 22150) --> chose yes. And voila it was updated and torrent kept running..no problem whatsoever. But now on my desktop I tried the same and when doing the same for updating. It gives me"No contact with uTorrent-updateserver" :/So do I just download the right version+build I want and run the .exe and install it too the same folder ?Or are there other steps to take...?Hope it's all clear, translated it all cuz I have the Dutch language installed And thank for everyone who can help me out ^.^
DreadWingKnight Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Check your internet security software on your desktop to make sure it's not blocking things.
Mcdn Posted October 27, 2010 Author Report Posted October 27, 2010 Think I already did that. But too make sure I closed avast totally, but still got the same error when trying to update from to uTorrent itself.
GTHK Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Lots and lots and lots of security software keeps blocking even after closing.THEY LIEEEEEEEEEEEE.
Mcdn Posted October 27, 2010 Author Report Posted October 27, 2010 Ok.........thanks for your supportfull post And how do I fix that and get my problem solved might have been a great addition so I can update my uTorrent
Firon Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Either uninstall Avast, or start it back up again, clear all rules for uT, then recreate them.
Mcdn Posted November 4, 2010 Author Report Posted November 4, 2010 It wasn't avast. after looking at all the latest changes I made on my PC. It turned out to be MBAM blocked the connection. So after uninstalling it and a reboot everything updated fine. Thanks for the help anyways
