I just started having problems with SBC DSL?

Hi all the last few weeks I've noticed that my download speed has went from 600kbs to around 10kbs. Anyone else been having this problem with SBC... I'm not particularly happy right now. They haven't limited my upload speed at all just my download.

I'm not convinced it's SBC yet...though it's not impossible that they're throttling.

If you're seeing this at 1-6 AM, then it's even less likely to be throttling.

Ok sorry my first post was a bit vague but I was in a hurry to get it made before I had to leave. I have my ports 6881-6999 open thru my firewall, windows firewall is disabled, the only change I have gotten is maybe 3 months ago I had to replace my Motorola Modem Belkin router combo with this new 2wire 2 in one thing... I didn't really have a problem at first but lately. I struggle with any sort of download. 2 weeks ago I was averaging 300k no problem now... I peek at around thirty. I debating trying my motorola/belkin again to try and get some more info. Is there anyway to assign my Incoming ports to somewhere else besides 6881-6999 see if that fixes the problem?

These are all checked in the 2wire 'attack detection' on my firewall except the top one.

Turn off all of that actually, chances are, your modem is overreacting.

Additionally, is uTorrent actually configured to use those ports you set up or not?

ok hooked up the motorola and Belkin last night no change in performance...

Tried running the 'speed test' in BitTorrent.last night with both the 2Wire and/or Motorola I got an error that stated. This is new as of today. yesterday the speed test would pass on both.

Additionally, is uTorrent actually configured to use those ports you set up or not?

I know it is using the right listening port (47000?)I don't know about 6881-6999 I can't find anywhere in the settings to check that.

Also I am running BitTorrent 7.1

forwarding 6881-6999 is a waste of a forward slot if your client isn't actually listening on any of those ports.

What internet security software do you have installed?

Have you tested with torrents like openoffice or slackware to see what sort of speeds those give you?

No I haven't. If you point me in the direction of them I will start them right away.

they work fine? full speed 150kbs and 500bs on the other.

Ok so my connection still can go at full speed... sigh, I am getting confused.

its 50/50 some times it works others it doesn't
