utorrent creating editpadpro.exe processes

When uTorrent is open it continually spawns new EditPadPro.exe processes, dozens of them, and these aren't usable processes either, the program is not in an open and usable state but these processes start and just hang there indefinitely.

I'm thinking maybe uTorrent is trying to open files from downloaded torrents using the default application (which in this case happens to be EditPadPro.exe). My best guess is these are either .txt or .html files, both of which open with EditPadPro.exe on my system, but whatever command uTorrent is sending to open these is incorrect somehow, creating these inoperative processes.
