New to uTorrent, need help

Well a friend of mine are trading files and he turned me on to uTorrent so he told me to download it last night and I did.

Then this morning he emailed me with the files he is sending me, So he told me to just open the files in uTorrent which I did about 30 mins ago. The files showed up in the Window but nothing has been downloaded. It shows up in the 'All', 'Downloading', and 'Inactive' windows.

and the speeds are all at 0. This is very confusing for me right now.

He said in the email that once I opened the files in uTorrent they would start to download but as I stated nothing or 0% has dled and im wondering how am I suppose to start it up.
