My torrent only uploads after I stop it and start it

I just created and uploaded a torrent to demonoid for the first time, and it's behaving very strangely.

There will be no upload speed whatsoever, and then I'll stop the upload, and start or force start it and it will start uploading to a single peer at very high speed. Then that download wil finish, and I have to repeat the same process to get it uploading again.

This has happened 4 times, what do I need to do?

Do you have other torrents running?

What are your line conditions and overall uTorrent settings?

No other torrents are running.

I'm on a Wi-fi network my uTorrent settings are to have no bandwith limits at all.

You almost have to treat Wi-Fi as a broken network until it's absolutely certain it's reliable+fast.

Maybe it's because I'm using the mac version, but my program doesn't have a setup guide in preferences. (I'm using 1.01)

I don't have an "Allow incoming legacy connections". option either (though I did just select to encrypt)
