Necro55 Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Hello,I have been DLing and Seeding for a long time now, but I am needing to make a torrent. Now all this will be for is me and 2 friends who are not local. I have the data and I have the create torrent box open and the data selected, but from there I am not sure what else is needed.Do I need a tracker, or WebSeeds? This is not meant for public distribution, just fairly large size file sharing. What all is needed for this?THANKS!
DreadWingKnight Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 The documentation section of our website covers that.
Necro55 Posted November 6, 2010 Author Report Posted November 6, 2010 Thank you, sorry I forgot to RTFM.....Leads me to another question or 2.I got my IP and port from a couple of those whatismyip type sites, and they all agreed, but when I loaded it, and I can select open container file and its all there, it says Offline (Timed Out). How am I timed out from my own external IP?Which also leads me to my second question, which has to do with my internet as a whole. I have SBC DSL due to lack of options at this point and time, 3mb down 1mb up.(I know it's horrible). About once a week I have to reboot the modem and my router to keep internet speeds usable. Since uTorrent is on 24/7 could that be the problem, or are there some settings I should generally avoid which can make your internet service just awefull? Previously the speed hadn't been a problem, aside from hindering my ratio due to upload speed, however, I built a new system and went from XP32 to 7 64, and went from uTorrent 1.8.2 if memory serves, to the current version as of 2 months ago (2.0.4) and also immediatly started having these issues. Thoughts?**Edit**The find my IP site said my port was 56202 and the Setup Guide says im 31207, how do I know which is correct?
