Metzgerr
Hi folks, first off dont blame me nor redirect me to the faq's despite the fact that my router is bullshit torrents are going quite good at all (or went quite good). although it sometimes says the port utorrent is using is closed i never had any problems at all. i have to admit that i leeched with azureus quite a while but now switched over to this tiny client.as written in the topic im only downloading with aprox 20% of my total possible downloadspeed. it doesnt matter which network and connection options i choose or how many active torrents are downloading at the same time i only get a maximum speed of 140 k/Bs - upload is running fast as usual and speedtest are okay.i have set max uploadlimit to 50 kB/s, if i give it unlimited bandwidth my downloadspeed decreses to aprox 25 kB/s. a major problem could be the share ratio: total uploaded: ~ 20GB - total downloaded ~29GB. Is there any solution for this problem? I don't have a chance to get a full share ratio of 1 with my 6mbit connection (700 kB/s down and 75 kB/s up).thanks in advice
Firon
Test the OpenOffice torrent.
Metzgerr
downloading with about 550kB/s, should be okay.so the share ratio isn't the problem?
Firon
The problem is that your speeds are limited by the upload speeds of everyone else, so naturally it's hard to max out. If OO maxes out, then you're probably fine. But,you said you're using a closed port. You would get better speeds if you forwarded the port. shadek
This is the way Bittorrent works. Each peer download as much as the peer share to the others. However, if there are few peers with low upload rate, then of course peers with high upload capacity will have to share more.
Metzgerr
the port is forwarded: the test site sometimes gives an error message, sometimes its okay... nat is always green and ok as well.4000+ peers and 800 seeders but only 20kB/s downloadrate is strange to me, isnt it?!btw: it displays me 245 nodes, is this okay? shadek
245 nodes is normal. What is your max D/UP?
Metzgerr
max download is 700 kB/s - 75 kB/s upthe problem with the low speed may be caused by the router, the port seems to be closed (but sometimes opened) ?!. its strange that 140 kB/s is the maximum downloadrate in utorrent at the moment (18 files downloading) no matter how many torrents are running simultaneous - although openoffice got around 500kKB/s...
