disconnected utorrent?

hi, i have utorrent 1.5 , Windows XP SP2, Cable connection. Default Windows Firewall is turned off, no other firewall is installed. I start my utorrent, all the downloads have the colours as green(compl), blue(down) and this like. In a few moments all go red=no source?, without any further change. I'm unable to solve that. Before a few weeks everything went well, utorrent was stable and without any serious bug. Finally, i've NEVER seen green orb in the status bar! what's that? i'm at my wit's end. thanks.

Tracker Status is various, but allways red, these are the details:

- hostname not found

- a socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host

- invalid url

rest of my internet connection is runnig properly (IE, Firefox, ICQ, Direct Connect)

there is one fact which is very strange. All the things supposed to be downloaded have 0 peers 0 seeds 0 everything. Situation is same if i add new, fresh and really well aviable torrent. I guess there should be a connection problem rather than torrent unaviability.

Can you imgine which setup is the best for me in this situation?

port ?

uPnP port mapping?

i have this router(Trendnet) which distributes the interent connection all over my house. the router is directly connected with a sattelite on my roof - that connects me with a connection point in my neighbourgood. No other netware stuff in my house. I think i don't have modem at all

Sounds like you can't get names resolved from IP-addresses. DNS servers are OK ?

This explains how the other things go well, since your Trendnet keeps a cache for those names already used before.

You've opened 32459 on it yet?

You could try and open port 53 the same way as the uTorrent port.

Unfortunately i don't have a static ip.

They mean the fixed IP for your local machine, you can find out what it is via

Start > Run > and then entering "cmd"

on the commandline enter

ipconfig /all

What does it say after IP-address ?

Probably something like 192.168.1.3

And what does it say for DNS servers?

Your local IP should be quite easy to configure as static. If you want you can link the MAC-address of your PC's network interface with an IP on your trendnet router. Like 'static DHCP'.

How do you mean that ?

my ip is 192.168.1.114 now, but i guess it can change

ip of my router is 192.168.1.254 all the time

how can i link Mac adress with the interface and router's ip?

Yes, you can also use your router for that, but it's easier to set your computer's IP to be static/fixed, here's a good manual for that:

http://www.portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm

After that enter 192.168.1.114 as your 'Static IP' for the open ports too, on your trendnet router.

Just to be sure, does the command

ping 217.11.224.1

give you any replies?

Don't double post, use edit please.

Don't speak inside other people's posts, Firon. PM me if there's a problem.

This looks extremely idiotic for other users, and yes, I do see that e-mail, I just don't read from it all day long. I have a life next to the internet.

It wasn't a double post, it was a different post on a different subject. The MySQL will not suffer from that, trust me.
