tomhav
hi, i have utorrent 1.5 , Windows XP SP2, Cable connection. Default Windows Firewall is turned off, no other firewall is installed. I start my utorrent, all the downloads have the colours as green(compl), blue(down) and this like. In a few moments all go red=no source?, without any further change. I'm unable to solve that. Before a few weeks everything went well, utorrent was stable and without any serious bug. Finally, i've NEVER seen green orb in the status bar! what's that? i'm at my wit's end. thanks. Firon
If the icons turn red, then the tracker's not responding. Check Tracker Status. Does the rest of your internet work?
tomhav
Tracker Status is various, but allways red, these are the details:- hostname not found- a socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host- invalid urlrest of my internet connection is runnig properly (IE, Firefox, ICQ, Direct Connect)
Firon
Probably a tracker issue. Try another torrent.
tomhav
there is one fact which is very strange. All the things supposed to be downloaded have 0 peers 0 seeds 0 everything. Situation is same if i add new, fresh and really well aviable torrent. I guess there should be a connection problem rather than torrent unaviability. Can you imgine which setup is the best for me in this situation?port ?uPnP port mapping? Firon
So if you try a torrent like OpenOffice, that doesn't work?
tomhav
No, it's unable to connect to any tracker (saying offline or timed out). I tried Open Office 2.0.1 for windows with 134 seeds and 0 leechers and it is the same situation, i cannot understand.

Firon
So... you have a modem and a router, or a modem that acts like a router?
tomhav
i have this router(Trendnet) which distributes the interent connection all over my house. the router is directly connected with a sattelite on my roof - that connects me with a connection point in my neighbourgood. No other netware stuff in my house. I think i don't have modem at all

Firon
I have to say, it is possible your ISP is blocking trackers... you could try something like using Tor for all your proxy communication.
jult
Sounds like you can't get names resolved from IP-addresses. DNS servers are OK ?This explains how the other things go well, since your Trendnet keeps a cache for those names already used before. You've opened 32459 on it yet?http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Trendnet/TW100-S4W1CA/Utorrent.htmYou could try and open port 53 the same way as the uTorrent port. Firon
Static IP is a local thing, has nothing to do with your internet connection

If you want you can link the MAC-address of your PC's network interface with an IP on your trendnet router. Like 'static DHCP'.

jult
Yes, you can also use your router for that, but it's easier to set your computer's IP to be static/fixed, here's a good manual for that:http://www.portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htmAfter that enter 192.168.1.114 as your 'Static IP' for the open ports too, on your trendnet router.Just to be sure, does the commandping 217.11.224.1give you any replies?Don't double post, use edit please.Don't speak inside other people's posts, Firon. PM me if there's a problem. This looks extremely idiotic for other users, and yes, I do see that e-mail, I just don't read from it all day long. I have a life next to the internet. It wasn't a double post, it was a different post on a different subject. The MySQL will not suffer from that, trust me.
